Care to link to Z2 and G Pro 2 pricing in SA as I haven't seen any yet? That would be the only fair "like for like" comparison.
 
So the SIM only contract version of the Smart S is R129 per month. Subtract from the R469 and you get R340 x 24 = R8160 you are actually paying for the device.

Cept that they are apparently sending me a Gear 2 with my phone :) (only reason I went for it instead of waiting for the Z2).

I'd hardly refer to a year old phone like the S4 as a flagship still though which was my logic behind comparing it to the Note 3 and 1520.

Yip, I recall that from the other thread but left that out of this chat :) I will hopefully be getting a useless wireless speaker and a 16GB MicroSD card.

I saw the advert on their site as I was impatiently refreshing it every 30 minutes hoping for an update on the Z2.
I called them about 10 minutes later and was told "the system is not ready to take orders yet" so I left my details.
On a whim I called them a short while later again and they were ready to take orders so I specified I want the S5 with the Gear 2, got a verification sms, got a confirmation sms and had the quote emailed through to me.
About 2 hours after that they called me back again.

Now to wait for the package to arrive and then to check it's contents before signing :)

I called because there was no upgrade option available for the deal online.

I pre ordered and argued with both the consultant and the supervisor and neither would budge . So I got the S5 with S view cover . To be honest im rather peeved because I was told the Gear 2 is only for new contracts and not renewals . It does not state this anywhere on their site though , very poor from Vodacom really . Iv been noticing that the good deals over the past 12 months all seem to be aimed at new lines , they do not seem bothered in retaining their existing customers .

Well I've submitted my details, lets see what they come up with.
 
I called again the following day and had my upgrade and gear2 verified.

Going to call them now to verify again (you lot make me so paranoid).

Still says the same :)
