slightly.

Hard to tell if it made a huge difference.
Maybe less andiod backround battery drain. though only seems to last a bit longer.

Still no update? Go to a Samsung store, ask them to upgrade, come back a hour or 2 later and it'll be done.

Still no update, I can just flash it myself but I can wait another week for the OTA update, not really bothered.

When I had my S4 I immediately rooted and flashed a bunch of firmwares over the two years and this time I just decided I'm going to be a "normal" user with my S6.

Still no update for my wife and I yet, and we're on Vodacom too :/ I even went into the Samsung store in Canal Walk and asked them if Vodacom had given them any indication, and I may as well have been asking the name of the little alien who lives on the dark side of the moon. Yesterday's flagship? Pshhhhh, ain't their problem no more.

I think the guys that said they received the update and are on Vodacom are dirty dirty liars :D

6.0.1 is listed on sammobile for XFA and XFE but not for XFV, which is Vodacom.

Yeah, OR I think those guys have already flashed their phone to a different version, so in that case wouldn't they still get the update for whatever version they flashed and not the Vodacom one? Regardless, I'm not too stoked by this delay ... I think Vodacom is just taking their sweet time to add all their horrible bloatware back into it.

Just now, on Samsung livechat support ... so both Samsung and Vodacom are washing their hands of their own client support:

Welcome to Samsung Live Chat. How may I help you?

Welcome to Samsung Live Chat Support South Africa, How may I help you?
15:50:23

Frances
I have read your concern and will be assisting you.
15:50:39

Ok great, thanks Frances
15:50:50

Incidentally, it appears that all other cellphone service providers in South Africa (MTN, Telkom Mobile etc) have released the Android 6.0 upgrade for the S6, but Vodacom still hasn"t.
15:51:32

Frances
Unfortunately there is no way where we can confirm when there update will be available
15:51:50

Frances
the updates go through a testing phase and once the test is complete then they send us communication advising if the update is available or not
15:53:06

Can"t you even escalate this as an issue? The S6 is supposed to be a flagship phone, and one of the reasons I bought it is because I believed it would have access to the newer software immediately.
15:53:31

If you guys are made aware that Vodacom is delaying the process in their market, then surely you can recognise that this impacts Samsung"s market position.
15:53:52

Frances
Should there be an update available for your device you will receive a pop up on the screen to update to the latest software version
15:54:01

Yes obviously Frances, and what if that pop up never comes?
15:54:17

It"s ok, report it if you can, or else just forget about it :) Thanks for your help.

Its the service provider that releases the updates - not Samsung. Samsung released 6.0 last year. Go hound Vodacom.

Or just go to sammobile.com and install it yourself.

I'm just going to wait until the end of the month, if it's still not available I will just flash it myself.

Like I tried explaining to the Samsung rep, they've gotta hold Vodacom accountable. If a different brand of phone gets updates sooner, that's be my pick (Google Nexus is meant to be fastest right?).

Also last time I contacted Vodacom, the rep there told me I needed to phone Google, because Vodacom played no role in updating Android.

Poor training and miscommunication abounds.
