So a few months ago my heart rate sensor stopped working. I flashed a Nougat rom a few weeks ago thinking that it was just a software issue but I downloaded a sensor testing app and it seems like most of the sensors don't work (gyroscope etc).

I also rooted it. Is the warranty voided even if it is a hardware issue?

Yep rule of thumb is always root after warranty expires

Maybe put back on official firmware, unroot and see if they will take it back.

On samobile you select your carrier ie vodascum SA then flash with Odin

Get a cover, only play with changing firmware once out of box failure period has passed.

Make sure you have debugging enabled settings ----about---build info press 5 times developer option will come up in it settings

Nougat is available just not in South Africa yet you will have to download from sammobile

Hi guys

Just a quick question, has there been any consensus yet as to which tempered glass screen protector is best for the Galaxy S7? In terms of screen coverage, touch sensitivity, longevity? I've tried both the Body Glove and Energizer offerings and haven't been impressed at all.

Also which covers or cases are the most highly recommended?

Perhaps someone would be kind enough to suggest an ideal glass screen protector and case combo?

TIA

I also bought the body glove glass screen protector for the S7.
Didn't fit properly on the edge of the screen.
Ended up taking it off, it has now been almost a year with no screen protector and it is perfect.
I do recommend a good case, currently I am using the UAG case from Vodacom. Very solid.

Patiently waiting for the Nougat update, don't want to flash using Odin.

I ordered the Spigen screen protector. There are 2 in the box and as they are cut away at the top and bottom corners the case does not make it peel off. Not glass, but a mixture like strong plastic film called PET. This mixture is supple and allows the whole front of the phone to be covered.

Hi Linuxman,

The UAG case hits all the right notes in terms of protection, but I'm considering something a little less bulky.
What's your thoughts on the Slim Fit Case by Spigen:

or the Slim Fit case by Verus:

Hi Dee,

Those corner cut-outs seem to be the solution to the lifting of the glass protectors most of us are encountering. Are the Spigen protectors dry or wet fit? I found something similar in dry fit format by I-Carez (no mention of corner cut outs though):

Do you reckon it will do the job? OR is the version with cut-outs what i should be after?

Got a s7 regular. Loaded nougat... Happy again. Will never leave samsung

Agreed, but...

I said that about Nokia and my HTC Wildfire.

What I love about Samsung the the continued development of TouchWiz, even starting up my old Samsung Omnia (Windows CE) or Samsung Jet (Symbian if I remember correctly) phones, you can experience TouchWiz's roots there.

The Spigen screen protectors are dry fit, and they give you two just in case you make a hash of things.
