My only worry with these 18:9 phones that are tall and narrow is that they may tend to bend and snap, we may actually have a Bendgate in Android soon once these get into the wild.

Hope Samsung and LG are putting enough strengthening in them.

I like how Samsung hasn't made them too narrow though. Part of what I like with current 5.5 and +5.5inch phones is that 16:9 aspect ratio that keeps the phone a bit wide for content consumption in portrait orientation.

Interesting you say that, bought the SO a Samsung J7 Prime a few weeks ago which she is using on prepaid and I have to say I am quite impressed with that device, battery out performs my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (worst Samsung I owned due to lack of SD card functionality)

The J7 is doing quite well in stores from a sales point of view.

S6 is still a good device and it just got a Nougat update.

I think Samsung is dropping the Edge in favour of a "Plus" version which is still the same thing just rebranded.
