Samsung Galaxy S8

As with anything new, I will give it a try. Bixby, as it is at the moment is rubbish. Samsung is getting ready for a global launch.

Interesting, that option is grayed out for me on Telkom... Wonder why?
 
Which part is greyed out?
Perhaps it is network dependant.
On CellC it works perfectly.
 
The whole option to turn it on is grayed out. Must be a network thing. Turns out it's just access to app called Hiya, which you can download and use from the play store. Not sure why Telkom would block it, oh well.

I still think it's not as good as truecaller. Truecaller has much more contact info stored since a lot of people use it. I didn't install at first on this phone and wanted to try out Samsung own service. Realised it doesn't pick up as many numbers as truecaller does.

Also, I'm guessing Samsung's one will only detect and upload numbers from people who have Samsung phones, unless other people download the Hiya app, which is not very popular.
 
Battery life seems have gotten better after a couple of recharge cycles. Yesterday I got 5h 24m screen time with 14% left after 15h 23m on battery. With an estimated 2h left.

Finding a decent screen protector that works works with my Spigen case is proving hard. Bought a glass one that works with the case but it is affecting touch sensitivity severely.

Unless you keep sharp objects in your pocket - why use a screen protector?

I had the S6 Edge, UAG case with no screen protector. Still perfect.

S8 is the same.

Off topic: An exploit is out that will allow you to root your phone without tripping knox. Cannot pass the Android Safety test and only charges to 80%, so it's not recommended.
