I have found the weakness in the MTN system.

I received an SMS from DSV that my phone was handed to them on Thursday morning, saying that they will get in touch to schedule delivery.

Not hearing anything from them, I start phoning around (they have multiple numbers with many of them not in service anymore). This was Thursday afternoon and most of Friday, without success.

This morning I get through to a lady that tells me that apparently they tried delivering my phone on Friday, but could not get hold of me. This is BS, since I had no missed calls of any kind. So my phone was sent back to the vault, somewhere in Johannesburg.

This really is frustrating.

Same with Ram Couriers. Had to go fetch it myself.
Also allegedly missed call.

Only after 3 calls did they get someone to allow it.
I asked to escalate matter and on 3rd try got a guy with common sense.

Ram Couriers not that great but at least some staff great customer service.

Yes vodacom stores and some mtn have a machine that applies a screen protector. Had mine done. Cost 300 but its perfect. They can also apply skins for back of phone like carbon fibre pattern or clear

I am in cape town. Mtn cape gate had it. And cellucity and the big vodacom store in tygervalley. I am very very happy with it. Nice and clear. Cant tell i have one on.

All good, and like i said skins for back too. If not the big vodacom at canal walk, cellucity should deff do it

Not glass, but a very very good quality

I use both, no issues. On both wifi and cellular data.

Seems to have fixed itself in the last hour.

My normal Gmail account was syncing fine. It only affected my corporate email account that's hosted on GSuite.

I can't send pics you cant see it on the phone. The store has a special machine that does it

I think it just a plastic wrap that they apply. Similar to what they do to luggage at the airport, just on a smaller scale with a different plastic and only a single layer.

Apparently they don't always send email confirmation these days. Goods do arrive though after about a month minimum.

Lol, anywhere between a month and forever. I got my U Flex last year about a month after getting my Note8.

I now got a Note8 Standing Case through the Rewards in the Rewards App, and I mentally prepared myself to wait a month.

By the way, they have a tendency not to phone, they will just rock up one random day and deliver, lol!

Believe it or not we do not have it the worst, in the USA a lot of people waited a good 2-3months before getting the freebies for their Note8, so I fully expect the same this time, and for every other Samsung launch.

I’m seriously looking at getting an iPhone 8. With the release of the S9 though, I figured I’d scout again.

What’s the verdict on the 9? Any major improvement over the S8?
