The phone is being advertised everywhere, but i couldn't find a single shop that sales it.

I have contacted my service provider, Nashua Mobile, as I'm due for an upgrade, will let you know what they say here. But, the Omnia wasn't on any list that I received from them.

I'm holding thumbs! :D

Thanks!
I am due for an upgrade since march!!!
After seeing the omnia, i can't remember why i was waiting for the iphone...lol

ok i called them....

It's about R3600 on a vodacom weekender and
about R3300 on MTN my call 100.

Not sure if it's a good price...

I also don't like the fact that i am being forced to take the itemized billing and sim swap...

Not cheap... It competes with the HTC diamond which Nashua are offering for 4.2k on a mycall100 so it's not a bad price for the Omnia... But not cheap...

I will probably take it...but i don't want a contract with autopage.

I have just spoken to someone at Nashua Mobile, and they claim an ETA of the first week in October. Didn't ask about any pricing info, but I imagine that the info bar1 got from Autopage will be much the same as others.

I am on a Talk 120s, so am probably looking at around R3000, would be my estimate.

Itemised billing can be replaced with their online billing (cheaper, more functional), and having lost my phone recently, the SIM swap insurance came in real handy.

Agreed, I've had to replace sims twice in the last 8 months on 2 different numbers/handsets so sim swap is probably a worthwhile insurance to have... How much is it anyway? R5-00 a month?

at the moment , i am paying R135 per month for my weekender contract, at autopage i will
pay R167 + i will basically have to take new contract.
I will wait for the new MTN contracts to come out and than make a decision

I heard the i900 is heavily Vodafone branded, so it will be pointless getting it from Vodacom. Apart from that Vodacom will likely "test" the phone up till 2010 before we actually see it. :P

Vodacom Baas: "Pieter! Hoe gan dit met ons nuwe foon - werk hy reg?!"
Pieter: "Nee bass, ek 'Toets' die ding nog..."
Vodacom Baas: "Vat jou tyd seun, ons wil nie k@k verkoop nie!"

Wow this phone does look impressive....

I am having doubts about wanting the iPhone.

the iphone has got better screen resolution (480 x 320 pixels) than the omnia(240 x 400 pixels), with both handsets using big screens, you will defintely notice the difference when comparing the two, but again the omnia has a better camera, but the iphone has got a better and an easier user interface in my opinion..
