Jip, chromecast ultra works nice (when connected to Lan via its brick.) it's till 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi.
Pretty sure the Chromecast Ultra has 5GHz support (all from 2nd gen/2015 onward do), just very crappy one, you need to drop your channel band width to 20MHz. 3rd gen and with Google TV don't have an issue with wider band support.

The cause of the problems, it’s alleged, is a known bug in the Panasonic Solutions HDMI chips the AVRs use (Panasonic Solutions is now under the ownership of Nuvoton Technology). The bug apparently affects the way HDMI 2.1’s Fixed Rate Link (FRL) feature works - and unfortunately, early investigations suggest that the problem cannot be fixed by a mere firmware update.
Was from two months ago, think it's still an issue.

Then forum from 3 days ago this reply, original thread started two months ago as well:
Microsoft's new console does not work with new HDMI 2.1 receivers at the moment and there is no fix available.

As stated by Baff above, connecting the console directly to TV with ARC could pass through lossy DD+ back to your receiver.
So both Series X and Nvidia cards affected, Nvidia one LG fixed for their TVs.

It should work. Mine worked with Borderlands 3. Latest firmware on Tv.

Remember to change the setting in the game itself. Which game are you trying it with?

Obvious question: you made sure you are connected via HDMI 4, that's only one that does 2.1?

I cannot try any games with it because as soon as I apply the 120hz @ 4K setting (on the console) it black screens me.

You do have it connected to HDMI port 4 (the one with the gamepad icon)

Under General Settings - External Device settings. Check that input signal plus is active for HDMI 4. Only other thing I can think of checking.
