Howsit, i picked up my S3 yesterday from MTN. The guy struggled a bit to get the mobile data going (adding an APN) he said give it a while and try again. I've waited about 24 hours now. Everytime I try manually add an APN it doesnt save the settings. If I do the settings request from the mtn menu thing it copies the setting in but still no mobile data access. What am I doing wrong. I've searched the forum for answers but maybe i'm running the wrong search. Can someone please assist?

Did you get a new micro sim or did they cut your old one? Cutting the old one caused the exact same issue for me.

hi all I keep getting the following "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" when I receive a call and it seems to be happening more often. My phone is not rooted

It also narrowed this down to a problem with Facebook sync. Removed it, stopped sync and problem went away. Reported to MTN and Samsung but they were no help. Check your sync settings.

My problem only occurred with certain contacts. I made/received repeated calls from them while trying to resolve the issue. If you know a contact that caused the error you could try that too.

I flashed SuperNexus Jellybean rom and now I have a new boot screen. Looking at CyanogenMod youtube vids they also have a unique bootscreen.

So I guess you will need to flash a new rom.

Can also root it and just flash a new bootscreen.

Switch to 2G only. Helps a kak load. Do big downloads on wifi. 2G is more than enough for messaging and email.

I don't use Droidwall or any firewall anymore. Onavo Extend and 2G only keeps me well under 200MB PM with GTalk, GMail, Whatsapp running 24/7.
I have to say that since going JellyBean, data usage seems to be way low compared to previous versions. Not sure why cause I am using the same apps, but it is. Not complaining.

I personally found that Onavo was killing my battery life so I uninstalled it. As mentioned keep updates and big downloads to wifi. I personally haven't had a data issue with mine yet. If you use You Tube ever, make sure you untick the HD icon when the movie is playing, this chews data because it plays all vids in HD quality. I am not sure if there is an option to permanently set videos to only play in SD quality.
