I have never voter for the ANC. I consider them a cancer consuming South Africa from within. I actually voted for the FF+ in the previous election, not because I expected them to win, but rather because I wanted a slightly more conservative voice within the MPC, and I like their views on giving more power to local government/municipalities.

Next municipal elecation will probably vote DA again, because I quiet like the way our local municipality is run.

Not really sure what the relevance is to this thread. Also find wingnuts views very interesting, he is very vocal about crime and corruption, but upset about the police getting armoured cars to fight crime and corruption, because he assumes they are buying them to further crime and corruption, even though there is nothing at present that points to this

Alright nutter.... It's an established fact that Zellephant is not a ANC supporter/voter so she is entitled to have a life alright.
 
Vehicles require Level B6 ballistic protection against 7.62×39 mm full metal jacket (FMJ) rounds at 10 metres, and 7.62×51 mm rounds. Further, the armour must be upgradeable to STANAG Level I on all vertical sides. Vehicles must retain their standard factory appearance, with armouring concealed and discreet.

Far more likely to be for conducting raids on gangs like these, as well as intercepting cit gangs and so forth. Armoured double cabs don't make sense for VIP transport, there are better solutions

Double cabs are just as expensive though, do you think they are going to go for the entry level models?
An Amarok V6 is almost R1. 4m.
 
So, is there a genuine need for these? Has there been hundreds of cops killed specifically from being shot from outside, in their vehicles?

It's not as if they're replacing their entire fleet of vans with these things.

I don't think it's unreasonable that they could be required in particular situations.

And surely all cops should be walking around with R4 type assault rifles. Should we wait till they are killed by criminals with AK-47s?

No you domkop, there are high risk operations that could require the type of vehicles, it's not a difficult concept to grasp.

Surely during these "high risk operations", they will be required to get out of their R5m armoured cars? Your only role on this forum is to troll with Pro-ANC, anti common sense rhetoric. That's like saying those CIT trucks do not need to be armored because at some point the guards are going to be required to get out of their truck at some point, do you honestly not see the absurdity of your argument?
