SAPS issues tender for armoured double cab bakkies

That's like saying those CIT trucks do not need to be armored vecause at some point the guards are going to be required to get out of their truck at some point, do you honestly not see the absurdity of your argument?

Really CIT types, travel ftom one secure point to the next. SAP are by nature of their duties, required to exit their vechiles to do their public duty, where ever they may be.

The idea of hiding away inside a armoured vechile has a certain appeal, to idiots, who do not realise, at some point they have to exit them in insecure areas, to do the job they hired on to do.

LOL, still havent answered my question dipsht. Shouldnt those few cops then have full body armour? Surely during these "high risk operations", they will be required to get out of their R5m armoured cars? Your only role on this forum is to troll with Pro-ANC, anti common sense rhetoric. Fokken dom p03s. This is nothing more than a money grab tender. Joe public will never ever ever see the benefit of these overpriced KFC collection vans.

Calm down........ Its a Friday

It's like people don't even bother reading posts anymore, you just want to respond. I specifically mentioned high risk operations because I understand that police don't need an armoured car to come and deal with you when you are drunk and terrorizing your family.

It's not as if they're replacing their entire fleet of vans with these things.

I don't think it's unreasonable that they could be required in particular situations.
From how I read it, they aren't even replacing any of their fleet outright. The tender is for a company to retrofit the armourproofing to existing double cab bakkies in their fleet, they will provide the vehicles out of their existing fleet. I doubt many of the people so angered by this have even bothered reading the articles.

Read, again, and comprehend, what is been written.

Exactly, but that's the norm after all.

Any excuse for some outrage.

PoP is just one division of SAPS. Question for you - do they carry out their public duty in wetsuits or is that also not a thing in your book because they can't chase criminals while wearing a 7mm rinohide?

If they are strong and fit enough, to carry it, they welcome.

Come to think of it, a wet suit might do wonders for the KFC Butt's in uniform. Make them appear a little more stream lined, maybe.

Then you get the SVI Max 3 based on the landrover platform, it's more personnel carrier and less military spec.
Your goalposts are all over the show.

Goal posts all over the show - do you know where the Mirage ends and reality begins?

I think not, and that is why this is pointless.

The Cops, when they go ahead with a Jihad against ISIS.

Or

They scared of the coming Russian invasion

At this point I don't think anyone would be overly surprised or shocked at that. Anyway, have a good weekend!
