SARS E-Filing 2018

I hope someone can shed some light on this for me.

I earned "X" amount for the 2018 Tax year. The company declared to SARS that I earned "Y" which is approx. R4500 more than I did receive in that year. (I summed up all the amounts from my payslips). The same goes for the tax amount on my payslips as compared to my IRP5. The sum of all the tax amounts on my payslip is about R1000 less than what the company submitted on my IRP5. Is that normal or is something wrong here? I have no other deductions, only PAYE and UIF for the 2018 Tax year
Well done for checking this! Not a lot of people do. When I checked mine it was also out, but with like R100 so I let it go. It should be balancing exactly so take it up with your employer.

Means that your verification is done, and no changes have been made to your original assessment. Your refund should be paid within 7 working days. Perhaps check your SOA in a few days time to see if it gets updated.
Can you perhaps explain to me how I check my SOA on e-filing?

Submitted on first of July(being audited),
Its the first of October and still no movement.... wow they are really pathetic.

Phoned them now as i submitted on 12-09-2018.They said give it 21 days from submission , and if nothing has happened after that then enquire again.

Got refund yesterday.. 1/3 of the amount originally they said they'd refund. The Guptas bled them dry!
Interesting. I also have a disability claim as part of mine and the amount this year was about triple last year's return despite other details being somewhat similar other than that my out of pocket medical expenses for my daughter went from about 20K in the previous year to 86K for this return. Hence I figured my bigger refund was due to that. Hoping they don't cut my refund by a third but it will not surprise me I guess. Anyways, have heard nothing since the 21st of Sept. I will lodge a complaint if I have heard nothing by about the 20th Oct.

Hi everyone

I had outstanding returns for 2013, 2014, 2015,2016, 2018
I submitted all my documents for those years on the 10.09.2018
I was selected for verification on the 10.09.2018
I uploaded all the documents on the 11.09.2018
I received letters that sars received all my documents for all the years on the 11.09.2018
So far i have received one auto complete letter for the 2013 year on the and it says refund is due tomorrow
please refer to the picture attached.

Can anyone please tell me how much longer they will take?

On the Income Tax Work Page, you can click the “Request Historic Documents” button, select “I want to request a statement of account” and indicate “6 months to date” and click the “Request” button. The hyperlink to the statement of account will be displayed and you can click on the hyperlink to open and view the statement of account.

You need to allow 21 to 30 working days from the date of submission of your documents for audits to be completed. Also you need to be aware that 2018 tax returns are prioritized.

Thanks I don't see any pay dates :(

Submitted 17 July via a registered tax practitioner with all supporting docs.

No audit this year, but loads of delays from SARS taking their sweet ass time, they practically ignored me. Had my TP follow up a few times.

Got my refund today, best Bday present from SARS.

We are launching a dispute.. because my tax practitioner is ADAMANT they slipped up.

Is it worth going to Sars offices?
Or am I going to get the same answers as the call center?
I am tired of waiting

Have you tried escalating by calling the Complaints Management Office on 0860121216? Are you sure that there are no documents outstanding? What does the contact center say?

Acourding to the CC all required documents are there. Awaiting the auditors.
Escalated and lodged a complaint. Still nothing.

Submitted my wife's return this evening. Then mine. They want documentation for mine only. Not sure what they wanted, but submitted my tax free savings contributions to my online share trading account. I suppose they'll let me know if there is something else wanted.

What did I learn from this evening's exercise:

1. SARS still prefers IE over Chrome
2. Retirement annuities and medical aid contributions are being submitted to SARS now
3. SARS' request for documentation is still 100% obscure
4. My wife still gets better refunds than I do
5. I am hopeful that I might be declared physically impaired in this tax year (and maybe there might be benefits)

7 weeks after submitting documents, multiple escalation calls, and I've finally received a completion letter stating that no adjustment has been made to the assessment - am I correct in assuming that this means i'll get paid out the amount from the original assessment ?

submitted on the first of July, and just got off the phone with SARS.
->"It has been submitted and is still in the Auditors queue. It has not been assigned as of yet."
The escalation also hasn't been processed.
