SARS E-Filing 2020/21

So after more than 2 weeks (and about 7 request) I finally received my IRP5 from the head office.

Next question, my ITR12 is still not populated with the IRP5 data. Do I wait for a day or 2 for it to update then refresh again. Or do I have to fill it in manually?

It is better to wait to ensure that the employer completes. Because if not, it could be that the employer did not pay your taxes in. And SARS for compliance first needs to receive the IRP5 through the EMP501 system. Remember, your IRP5 must agree to what's loaded on the system.

Any idea how long it will take? Assuming they uploaded my IRP5 to SARS today 1PM

I got this exact message last year. It took 3 audits as sars data kept on getting corrupted!

The issue was 2 tfsa providers kept uploading it incorrectly
so it took more than 3 months for you to get your money?

I filed 1 Oct 2020. Got audited.
Then got audited 18 Dec again

Payout was 15 Jan 2021

When I see that information message (I run). My advice, anyone who gets that, book a call to hear what's the issue !

And happy to say that my refund is (finally) paid! Called SARS on Monday, 12 July 2021, and followed up on refund, only to be told that there is a "Special Stopper" placed on my refund due to my banking details requiring verification (even though, it was marked as "VALID" under SARS Registered Details > My Bank Accounts... but anywho), had to submit a selfie - holding a copy of my ID and a note that reads "update my details", ID Copy, Proof of Address and Bank Statement, then an agent called on Friday to confirm the request and refund was processed yesterday as per SoA and came in just now (Discovery Bank).

All of the best to those who are still awaiting their refunds to be paid!

Hi All,

Has anyone tried to do a request for remittance on a client? None of the browsers work. Old internet explorer used to work but now when you open the RFR it does not allow you to edit it. Even tried the SARS browser and no luck.

Does anyone perhaps have a work around that they could share? Will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi so just to share my experience submitted 1 July 2021 and then was selected for verification/audit received and sms on 16.07.2021 advising that I needed to submit additional supporting docs which I did got a revised assessment today and they disallowed my biggest deduction which is so strange because as a commission earner we claim back lapses in terms of S11A of income tax act and have been doing so forever and never had an issue. So now had to lodge a dispute and will have to wait 21 days to see what happens dont understand they raised a query for travel expenses nothing on the lapses and they they disallow that surely that should have been part of the requirements on the 16th one would think. This is gonna be a long process eesh

So I am putting together my WFH documentation and just wanted to confirm one thing before submitting.
Is it necessary to upload all 12 rental statements and payments or can I submit only one statement and one proof of rental payment?

Thank you for sharing your update.

I'm waiting for a similar email to come to me. I uploaded all the letters and floorplans, but didn't include photos. Maybe I should do that now instead of waiting for correspondence

Geez, I literally just gave them a letter from my employer and a little calculation where I work out the percentage of the house and they accepted it
