SARS still using Flash Player despite security risks

I've tried every browser to access the Flash-based forms, none of them work. The deactivation of Flash is baked into Windows 10, there's nothing you can do, doesn't matter what browser you use.

Our company disabled flash roughly 3 years ago. At that point the company talked to them a whole bunch of times. They admitted it needs to be fixed, on the path to get replaced etc.

So for sure they've know about this for 3 years.

Okay, so I suppose we cannot eFile this year, right? Will SARS mail us our tax forms so that we can complete it and drop it in a brown box at their offices when we are done?

Do you think they have money to do that?

I am aware of another governmental organization that uses Flash, that has actively taken steps to ensure their systems still use Flash and that it cannot be removed. Their operations come to a standstill without it.

How about you share that info with us :)

Puffin Browser, you pay $2 pm but it works with flash, we managed to get Sars site up and running 100%.

Their activities will come to a standstill, because of it.

Didn't SARS halt all software development in order to buy SAP licenses under the old (state capture) commissioner? And they had the IT Ma(mpara)nager to get rid of too.

It does look like they are making the necessary changes though, just had a late start under the new commissioner so hopefully, eFiling will be on HTML5 before filing season starts.

That being said, their defense of
all technology solutions pose cyber security risks
leaves me speechless...

This method worked for me on Win10 (1909) with the latest version of Firefox for another website.

Create a file named mms.cfg with the following content:-
EOLUninstallDisable=1
AutoUpdateDisable=1
EnableAllowList=1
AllowListURLPattern=https://www.sarsefiling.co.za/
AllowListURLPattern=https://secure.sarsefiling.co.za/

Copy this file to the following 2 locations:-
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

Restart Firefox and try again. No guarantees, but worth a shot if you're desperate enough! :)

edited to include 2nd url

It doesnt work on the latest version of flash that was released in December, so if your browser updated then you are out of luck.
I have had endless hassles over the last few weeks with a vendor trying to change an interface from flash to HTML5 so I have tried every workaround you can imagine.
