Screamer ADSL

Is it just me or are the torrents FLYING tonight? hitting 70kb on my 512kb line.... downloading is humming. let's see what my stats say

2058mb since 12pm. Not to bad considering i stopped everything for about an hour as well.

2gb a day x 30 days = 60GB a month?
 
I did about 60GB in January, and I am on 30GB so far for February on my 384 account.
 
Still bothers me that i can only d/l 1 torrent at a time. Can i schedule 1 torrent to start as soon as the previous one is done? Guess i could, but i'd like to phone Screamer and tell them bout the uTorrent issue.

uTorrent allows you to do it. Just set your queue to 1 active torrent and 1 active download and start them all. I assume Vuze will be able to do the same. However, if a torrent is VERY slow, it will start to activate others to get something done, at least, I also found. So this may not work for you.
 
ok according to vuze im stuck behind a NAT... the last time i downloaded a torrent (a few days ago) i didnt have this problem...now its suddenly come up. anyone else have this problem?
also my download speeds on the torrent are VERY inconsistent. the speeds are always shooting up and down

Thanks for the info Valerion, Bitcomet does it one by one to. Have to do it because i am going away for 5 days so ya... electrical failure and boom goes the DSL and downloading story.
 
@ Adrenalin - The guys at Screamer know about the uTorrent issue. Trust me, I dont keep my mouth shut when I'm not happy! So they know, and they responded to me that they know! So don't doubt for a minute that they are not aware!
 
Thanks IRG. I think we need to work as a mini community to solve our own issues. They not going to do anything about it soon.

Hi Guys, can anyone tell me what speeds they are getting on their downloads, i am using the vuze torrent client now and am getting between 2kbs-8kbs on 384 account? anyone else having problems?
 
Oh this is fun. Sending emails results in a "DSN: User unknown" for me. The nice thing is that I am the administrator for the domain in question, and Screamer didn't even attempt to deliver to the site, they simply bounced it. And I triple-checked the email address (copy & paste is handy). So I sent an email to the support email address. Imagine my surprise when this email bounced as well. With - yes, DSN: User unknown. And the helpdesk is in voicemail-only mode this morning.

Does anyone here have a working SMTP server I can use with Screamer, please? This has been going on the whole week for me now.

SMTP server: smtp.screamerdsl.co.za
SMTP Auth: Using my Screamer ADSL username and password.
 
I have two Screamer accounts, I also get Auth errors with the one, but not the other. So I setup both email smtp Auths with the one accounts username and password. Still have to query that one with them....

BTW if you use gmail then you dont need to use the screamerdsl smtp!! Man I love gmail!

Guys anyone on the 512 account?? I'm seriously being ripped off in my opinion. I never get over 400kbit/s on the 512 anymore. Basicaly paying double for a 384 type speed :(

The 512 guys, whats your experience?
 
IRG what download speeds do you get on your 512 line, as i am on 384 and get downloads between 30 and 45kbs....
 
I have been peaking at mostly 48kBs, Been long since I have seen an average of over 150mb per hour. I used to get a solid 175mb per hour... This morning I seem to bouncing up and down between 38kbs and 52kbs...
 
i cant understand why utorrent is causing an issue and killing the connection, if we only knew about this earlier this month im sure i would have been a very happy camper, just for interest sake what happened to the the issue of "problems with the upstream provider" ?? was this just an excuse for them not being able to diagnose the problem, also is this "issue" also present on other uncapped services which also use seacom i.e digichilli and SAOL??
