Maybe you should try downloading local content and see if your connection is still as slow. Like from http://mirror.ac.za/ , ftp://ftp.isgaming.co.za/ or http://www.microsoft.com

I'm still wondering if I should get the 384kbps uncapped account from screamers, and run it in combination with like IS local only accounts, so that I can have decent browsing speed for local sites 24/7.
So far from the comments that I've read in this thread, I get the feeling that it won't be a wise choice to go for Screamers? Most people complain that they're paying for 512kbps accounts, but they're getting 384kbps or slower speeds...

Don't get it. I canceled my subscription due to inability to use it at most times and unreliability at other times. Wait for a reliable "cheap" uncapped solution.

I know I'm starting to sound anti-screamer, but I've only had average service during the 2nd and 3rd weeks of January. After that, it was terrible. I can hardly do a thing on my line now. Browsing times out, FTP does not work (if it does, it times out), torrents are completely un-usable. Just my opinion though. could be better for others?
 
They seem fast today. Downloaded a 120mb torrent in under 1hour. Was going at max download speed (45kbs) and max upload speed (14kbs) through the whole download.
 
My speed is shocking. Just signed up and cannot even browse......want to go to speetest site but it does not even open!

Hmmm. Sitting at the airport waiting to get home after 5 days. Hoping i never disconncated once and all 5gb of my download are done. 1gb a day is not to much to ask. Otherwise i will look at sainet.
 
Ok so, back home, downloaded 20mb today... 20 F'ING MB?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!

does anyone have any contact details for anyone who holds a high management position at screamer? im getting quite fed up with their pathetic service now.. I wrote 2 letters to their head office and have sent many emails to their technical support team and I haven't received a single response from anyone
 
Phhsst... crappy speeds again today... getting maxed at 20kb/s and the goes down to 10kb/s... :wtf: moved from utorrent to bitcomet 1.19 but still the speeds are ***. I swore to myself that I was going to cancel this month.... but didnt thinking it would get better but its not... this will defiantly be my last month with Screamer... rather pay for 2 telkom accounts which give me more bandwidth local and international rather getting stuck with this crap.:sick:

Edit>>>> Ok so I played a bit of catchup, was on business in Cape Town, noted that I can only download 1 thing at a time and now almost getting full speed...between 29kb/s and 36.5kb/s still not full speed and still erratic as hell but at least now I am getting somewhere... no thanks to the techies or so called support...thanx forum dwellers you take the credit here.

I see that my 384 account is timing out after 41.77.239.254 ... bloody upstream provider again ?!? EISH!!! TF for Afrihost!

wonder if it is time to try DC again?
 
Adrenalin, i am having the same problem, it seems to be totally screwed this morning.... anyone else having problems?
