One of our techies will phone you at about 18h00 because you should be getting full speeds by now.
 
service sucks...my connection just dropped for half an hour. Howzit, any explanation as to why this happened?
 
Oh boy... its gone from bad to worse.. had to use my telkom account to post... I have no bandwidth whatsoever when I logged in... anyone else with this problem? Secondly called technical support and I had to leave a message but operating hours are until 10pm??
 
you're wasting your time with their so called "technical support." they never answer the phones and hardly ever respond to emails.
 
Well today, i am SLIGHTLY happier...



my speed seems to have picked up and i spoke to Neil fro screamer... someone who actually knew what was going on!!!

He was going to help whilst he was on the phone but of course i was at work so...

Speeds are still a bit dicey but at least it's not just me this time

And to Neil, all your customers really want is feedback. That's it... i was very very surprised to hear a voice from screamer today.
 
Well you lucky, I spoke to Neil as well today... I think it was his name... cant remember anywho.. said he would sort it out but I am now worse off than I was yesterday :(

Edit ~ just got a PM that I would get a call after 18h00 from a techi... lets see what happens...

Yeah i think with all the complaints they are trying to sort out their customers... well i hope so because seriously all it takes is a phonecall to make someone happy
 
I just got off the phone with Neil. He asked me to run a Speedtest.net however, it seems as the network went down as I the tests failed to run. He promised to investigate and get back to me (not tonight though). So lets see what happens
 
Yip got a call from Neil too... promised to sort it out... I wait patiently... I don't see it being resolved before Monday.... I hope I am pleasantly surprised over the weekend.....
 
I am so happy that I left screamer........ SAOL is soooooo much better
 
per Howzit we should be getting full speeds now.
I am only getting 20 to 25 KB/s on news servers. that is some way of 40KB/s.

will check again tomorrow morning. right now will have to suffer through painfully slow downloads.
 
Have to agree with you guys, The speedtest shows the line is working, but in reality its not functioning properly. BTW mine is dead as from last night. Before it died I was trying to play COD-MW2. The steam updates could not get over 15kB/s and probably averaged 6kB/s. So I dialed up my Afrihost account and it cruised at over 40kB/s. The update took a few minutes. My time in the lobby was so short when joining / searching for games. I picked up games within 50ms, and had speedy / flawless play. On the other hand with Screamer connected It took forever to find a game, with pings going up to 150ms. Game play was laggy as hell.

I have not seen full speed on either of my two accounts (which are at two different locations) since the updates started last week.

Also I have problems all the time with emails and my Screamer account. Two to three weeks ago my sent emails kept coming back to me (not all of them though, but all the important ones). Thats when they investigated the matter and I changed my smtp to screamerdsl. Now for the last week again, my emails are not getting delivered. They send, and sit in limbo somewhere in the" internetz" for about 4 days, then bounce back to me. I lost R58000 on a quote that I sent to a client that never got it. So I am now way pissed. The client thought I just did not respond so he went elsewhere.

Howzit, seriously we need to get this sorted. I can not run my business without email. Well right now, I cant get anything done... its dead!

Screamer down again?!

Well I've been using screamer now for the past few months and my torrents have been semi ok. Browsing is useless though. Latency pathetic. Have to keep refreshing the page to get anywhere. I run an internet cafe so screamer was on a trial run. My IS Fibre 10GB is kicking butt. Twice the price but at least it works. And when i phone technical support they answer their phones. People seem to know what they talking about too. Anyone have an alternative cheap uncapped? Who can rivakl Screamer's prices and offers better service? Come on guys there has to be someone out ther using seacom who is not useless...
 
Still dead? When i left home this morning at 8 it was dead. But so was afrihost...
 
@IRG: your best bet for email would be with telkom. just go into a store and request a mailbox account. they charge R16 per month just for an email address. I have done the same and I have had no problems whatsoever.

@RYNO69ER: i found this the other day http://www.redwill.co.za/adsl_special.html don't know how reliable they are but they are quite cheap. only thing though is that they don't do uncapped

No http, no news servers nothing.

Same here. Been dead since Neil called me last night. Had to resort to Afrihost. (good old reliable afrihost). They really need to sort out this cr@p. I am nearly at the cancellation stage......
