my speeds have been really crappy today and breaking all the time.
I have to babysit grabit every few hours to make sure there is a connection.

NED - what is happening there?
WHY ARE WE EXPERIENCING SUCH TERRIBLE INCONSISTENCY?
AND WHEN IS THIS GOING TO FINISH?

Well, I shall be away from screamer now. Good luck to you guys and to NED with sorting out the issues with screamer. My account is yet to be cancelled with screamer and I have already ported to SAOL (painless and done completely by them within a week).
 
I am using ...by force bitcomet.. which for some reason... uses huge amounts of bandwidth on uploading and downloading and the the apps says I am downloading 7kb/s but my Du Meter reading is almost at full tilt on my telkom account and my screamer account it doesnt pass 10kb/s... thankz to screamer I am forced use this crappy client as supposed to utorrent because it doesnt work on their network!!!

I am seriously pissed off!!! its taken almost 2months to download a 10GB file from screamer and on utorrent on my telkom account it would have taken me a couple of days... RAISE YOUR GAME SCREAMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I Think enough is enough now .Speeds been crappy Each month R400.00 is going down the tubes .Use an Sainet pre-paid 4gd account and it went flying ,even Axxess account full speeds.
I think we are just taken in , to all the stories they keep telling us .

i agree 100%. same story for me today as well. been trying to download via grabit and getting under 10 KB/s. Switched to flashget trying to download linux mint and getting 5 KB/s there.

please respond Screamer. I cannot phone your call centre and hang on for 15 mins and never get through.
 
Okay, seriously.

What is up with this bull****? I can't use uTorrent for some reason, my IMC software also doesn't work, though it does on my other ISP, and I have yet to get anything over 15kb/s.

Is there any reason for me to still saty on this rubbish ISP? When I signed up, I asked them how long they have been in Telecomms, and the guy said 5 years. I am shocked that they could survive this long, since their service is horrible and their call centres are constantly putting me on hold for at least 20 minutes at a time.

I guess I'll stick to AXXess only and cancel this rubbish.

Hey All,

Speeds have not been great on my side either. Im just hoping that from Monday all is done, but ill give screamer till Wednesday as they time lines are always a bit off, im also still waiting on a email reply from them too, spoke to a technician on the phone to track down my email and they found it...... but im still waiting.

my skyping is really bad... the line keeps breaking up and I can hardly hear the person on the other side.. could this be because of the ping or my line quality? is anyone else having skype problems?

also another thing I noticed is that when I download something through itunes (eg podcast) it downloads at full speed. But when i download directly off the internet it downloads as if i am on a 512 line. why is this?

NED, you and Screamer have till Wednesday to sort out the line speeds for Im crawling at 5-10KBs on everything. If you have not sorted it out by then, I will be canceling my account and removing all my money from my bank account so that you cannot debit me for the month afterwords, if you have a issue with that you can pm and ile put you in contact with my lawyer because I am not paying for no service (**** speeds, no phone call answers and no email replies). The End.

Perhaps Screamer (in light of this pathetic service) should as a measure of goodwill acknowledge the poor service and refund us subscribers a portion of our contributions. DC did that (on start up) to say they realised the less than 100% service.

Any support for this?

Get as far away from screamer as u can. Not only is there service the worse i have ever experienced in a ISP (and i have been with many), there is zero customer support and they will steal your money. A week after i canceled my service with them my account was debited again, even after the bank supposedly canceled the debit order. So now i have to waste a trip to the bank tomorrow and reverse the debit order and hope and pray this does not become a monthly thing i have to do as it seems screamer will take your money even after you are no longer with them.

Please, if you are one of those persevering with this atrocious company, stop wasting your time reading into there empty promises hoping they will get better.

They have till Wednesday to cough up with there speeds .Or I going to cough out with a cancellation order .I think i had enough of a uncapped service which crawls worst than dial up .
 
checked my speeds before leaving for work.
It does seem to have picked up from yesterday - the litmus test will be to check how much I have downloaded. Opensuse is a 4.2 gig file so it better have gone far.

Or else.......
