Hey all,

I cancelled with screamer because i couldnt handle the pay with no service game.
But at times i would get i.e. 2.4 gb per day for two days and when it worked other times.
when i switched to mweb in the last week, i got 2.1 on mon, 800mb tue, 1gb wen, 1.6 thur and today look at getting 1.8 all on a 384K line, the only reason im happy is because its consitant service. I also dont think mweb could cope fully with all the new customers on the service, i think it will get better. Ill still try screamer if they sort out the netowrk issues and customer service.

Yip, sorry to say... canned screamer, now running Afrihost all the way.

My downloads and speeds from Screamer were fine but got pssed off with high latencies (+500ms).

Tried Afrihost uncapped and my 384 line got throttled to 12k after downloading 8Gigs and latencies on WOW were +1000ms on average.

Am going to try MWeb now.

I have not been disappointed. I fear you should wait until the first of the month though, their pro rata is for half a month, and a month in advance.

Yeah, I did too. Downloads have been utter pants today too. More "maintenance" do you think? Their maintenance seems to be even less effective than my local municipality's, and that's saying something!

How's the performance of screamer now? Haven't heard anything from people on here in a while...

It has been pretty consistent for me over the last month.
Was out for the long weekend and kept it running 24/7, and it kept going and didnt break.

that said, I have just sent in my cancellation. R200 bucks is too big a price difference. If they had acted quickly and brought prices down to the MWEB level - it might still have been worth it.

mine is the same... having problems with the hotmail website aswell. i haven't noticed any improvements since the upgrade...tried phoning through a few times but keep getting cut off.
where have Howzit and NED disappeared to?

Screamer are a bunch of fu**en theives. When they initally started I signed up for Jan 2010 and Feb 2010. On the 1st Feb 2010 things started to go downhill fast for Screamer.
I was unable to connect/surf/download anything worth crap. I tried Howzit, I tried John (The technician), but to no avail.

On 17th Feb 2010, after not being able to use the account for anything really, I cancelled and requested a refund for Feb 2010. Get cancellation email and say my refund will be processed within 40 days. Well that has come and gone. emailed them on thursday (08/04/2010) to ask about my refund, and am told that they will process it for the latest on Friday (09/04/2010). Friday comes and goes nothing. emailed them this morning and no response. At about 3:30pm some women phones me and tells me that as I had a connection until 17/02/2010 they will only refund me from that date. What a load of **** as I was unable to connect to the fuc**en account for days on end.

What a bunch of theives. I will never do business with your company again.

i honestly dont know what to say...just phoned through to technical support, i was told to reboot my router and run a pingtest. everything appeared to be fine but i'm STILL getting 20kbps on a 4mb line!! this is ridiculous!
apparently someone is going to call me tomorrow to sort it out...i'll wait and see what happens

you are lucky. I started off a download last night - it only did 200mb before it died.
And doesnt want to switch on again.

re all the activity in the 'uncapped market' - are there any plans from Screamer to match/come close to these offers (I am not talking about the IS based offers - but the MWEB one)
