Screamer WiMax

I was able to login. We were doing ToC 25, I was able to login for the beginning of a fight, dc during the fight and only login again when the fight was over. My username and password were being accepted and I could choose my toon but would dc after the load screen.

For the first hour I was playing I had no issues, my ping was around 480ms, after 21:00 it was sitting around 720ms and non stop dc's.

270ms?! i'm constantly around 500-600 on my screamer account. no dc's or anything just high ping

I get the following with a 1mbit connection:
* Normal connection: 500-650ms
* Registry fix: 350-450ms
* GameMax: 240-350ms

However I can only use GameMax if my packetloss is really low - which I can't use atm due to the spectrum interference.

Well hopefully we will see an improvement after the 30th of November :

Have noticed that early in the mornings the signal is great, but before that latencies are quite high which is disappointing.

Noticed the same thing - I get fantastic international latencies early in the morning then it jumps by several 100 ms)

Im currently connected to the Kyalami Tower as i think the Mount road tower is currently still under maintenance.

Possibly when the mount road tower comes back online we would get the same performance as we used to.

You can check this using the performance utility.

got mine sorted out last night.
seems there was a problem on the Kylamie tower. they replaces some equipment there it seems. called them out they then re checked my dish and made some changes.

nice and quick now...

Problem is in my area where there is significant interference atm - I believe that ICASA is going to get involved.

The Mount st tower isn't down it is just the one sector that uses spectrum right at the bottom of the 2.5 band that gets "bleeding interference from WiFi operators who turn up their signal above legal limits.

ICASA has closed some of them down but it is a mission to get them out as their are a lot of Wi-Fi operators trying to compete in the 2.4 band and the only way they get signal through is by turning up their signal above the legal limit.

It is driving us nuts and I really feel for our clients near the interference.

How do you/ICASA find out who is doing this?

How do you/ICASA find out who is doing this?

We have some fairly advanced spectrum analyser type equipment which we use. We pinpoint the offending aerials and then notify ICASA.
2 weeks later we do the same thing ad nauseum
