Seacom on track

Oi this must be interesting to work on the ship. What happens if they get bad weather with swells of say 5m. How fast can a ship lay the cable 5km/h?

I'm still amazed at how these thousands of kilometres of cable can be laid on the ocean bed...

The following Wiki entry I found really informative, as the idea of these cables boggled my mind.

A good read, for those who are perhaps looking to get some more info on the history and construction of these cables.

EDIT: Also keep up to date with Seacom's progress on the official site.

I'd hope that worst case scenario, they are on schedule with the laying....
Best case, almost done [I wish]...
