Intel is going to announce "a new technology" tomorrow, and the online buzz reckons it will release 'Light Peak', its alternative to USB.

Certainly CNet thinks so, citing the usual "unnamed source familiar with the event", who says Intel will indeed put the spotlight on Light Peak tomorrow.

And the interweb has been buzzing with speculation that Apple's upcoming MacBook Pro revamp, also expected tomorrow, will feature the technology.

Apple have a way with their customers hey... :D lol I'm still happy with my C2D unibody one. Although I could really do with a nice i7, (for work related stuff ;) )

I feel into those buying the iPad right now, when the new one is just around the corner. That is craziness, or just plain desperation... :erm:

well i just got my MBP 17' today, love it!!! i tell you now, i looked through, gumtree, junkmail and loads more only to find that 99% of the ads are scams, ppl in northern cape saying they'll ship to you. Had this chick who said i can came through to her, only to be turned away from security at the complex she "claimed" to live at saying there's no such person, she wanted me to deposit the money and bring the proof with me... f-ing scammers!

After all that, walked into the iStore in Sandton, only MBP 17' in the apple stores in sa is in durban... so went to incredible corruptions and they had a few in stock at the same price as the istore, so grabbed it!

moral of the story, if your time is worth money, just save the effort and walk into a store and get one...

...and just today they released a BRAND NEW one. Don't you feel sad? Ido.

How much did you pay for it?
 
I also bought a 2nd Macbook Pro. Very happy, but never send money to someone you don't trust.

The new Macbook Pro's are really cool. The most exciting feature is Thunderbolt, which isn't that important now but has a lot of potential for the future.
 
Just becareful with buying a second hand MacBook Pro as you don't want to be scammed. Especially those that try to sell there second hand goods at the price of a brand new ones.

Yeah I saw an advert on gumtree for the 2011 macbook pro's for such a good price, no ways that is for real. Mine is real though! :D
 
Just bought a MacBook Pro 13" (2010) - haven't even opened the box! I'm considering the upgrade to the 2011 model. Would you be interested?

Not at this stage thanks. Got an iPad in place of a notebook and it works quite well to be honest.
