Semi-shaped from Axxess

Hi Guys,

I have a 384kb line and use axxess as my ISP. I normally use the shaped bandwidth, but i see they now offer semi-shaped.

I find myself watching youtube often. Will buying semi-shaped bandwidth mean better performance from youtube and google video etc in the time periods where it becomes un-shaped??

Any other thoughts? I dont wanna buy this and then it make no difference.
 
yeah i mostly go on at night, after work.

So i wont see any improvements then?
 
Then why would axxess even sell a semi shaped package?

Semi - Shaped See our exciting new package that gives you the best of both worlds. Shaped and Unshaped. It's a fiber account that is a normal shaped bandwidth account on weekdays 7am to 5pm and an unshaped bandwidth account, ALL of the remaining time.

This gives you the opportunity to use unshaped bandwidth, in the evenings and weekends when you need it, for gaming, streaming, radio, IPTV, P2P and other specialised software, all with much reduced ping (delay) times, and you still have your normal shaped account during the day.
Local only is the only one that is unshapped all day.
Shaped is shaped all day.
Unshapped speaks for it self

its shaped and unshaped so that's what they choose!

Semi-unshaped is shaped during the day and unshaped outside of office hours, ie after 7pm to 7am and also during weekends.

It's for people who need the better latency after hours.

Great, and thaks for clearing up.

Back to my op, youtube videos will perform better in the evenings using the semi shaped right? A noticeable difference?

normal accounts are unshaped after office hours to:confused:

I am not 100% sure but it should make a difference but don't think that u are on a 4meg line. (big or lil I don't know sorry)
I also watch yourtube now and again and its fine with shaped.
