Hi

I need some serious help..
I have the 8ta 10Gig promo...my signal is always 4/5 bars or 5/5. I want to know if something exists to increase my signal quality?
I mean I did 10 speed tests back to back and the results vary by a huge ammount. A external antenna does not make a huge difference as I have good signal already...I need this to run at a reletave constant(with 3G thats hard) 4Mbps+. I use the connection for my Dekstop.

Is there something that will help me with this? I thought of a router, but will it help as I will only connect one machine to it?

Signal between 4 and 5 on the scale of 5 is not optimum. External directional antenna improves not only signal strenght, but also help eliminate multiple signal path which gives instability of speed. So my bet, external antenna would help, unless your problem is congestion.

Before deciding on such expense, download MDMA and observe how Cell ID is changing when you re-orient modem, and how it affect your connection. Maybe you will find good spot with this simple method.

Edit: Not sure if this post is 8ta specific, title can be misleading. :)

Thank you. I have the program...what exactly must I do?

Unload your current dashboard from memory. Make sure that is not present in System Tray. If still present, it needs to change option in this software. Launch MDMA, it should detect your modem. Reorient modem and obsevre signal strenght, Cell ID, SNR on some modems. Repat above during downloading. Make note of Cell ID which gives you most stable throughput, try to get maximum SNR (or RSSI) form this Cell ID.
Just in case it switches from 3G to 2G, you can force 3G-only.
