I don't think you are weird for wanting it, but from my experience receiving is not that great, giving is a lot of fun, and it can be for both parties, because getting her ready for it to a point where you minimize the pain as much as possible for her, this is important if you want to repeat it again ever, is a massive turn on, because it is a lot of little gestures that are all sweet and sensual, in the end you get a nice reward for the effort.

from a previous experience, I can also say if she is not up for it, that does not mean the end of the relationship. sex is just a part of it. you can get to know every inch of a person's body in 6 months, but in 60 years you could not know them completely yet.

denial. its not easy, but make no mention of sex. do not initiate. when she initiates sex, have an excuse ready, hard day at work, stomach bug, headache.
after about two weeks of this you initiate it, in a sweet and kind and cuddly way, and then act like a teenager, no orgasm for either party allowed (at this point only)
another week later provided you played your cards right, and never ever gave the impression you were angry or upset, simply not giving her sex (sure you can sort yourself out, but here you have to do it so she does not find out) she will be jumping you and she will be willing to do anything to prevent the teenage experience from happening again.
