Fun derail :D.

I have no doubt BC's top boss fights are truly epic - Archi, Kael, Vashj, Illidan, all of Sunwell, they are without a doubt orders of magnitude harder than Ragnaros was. But it's about more than that. It's about atmosphere. The very molten earth beneath you groaning as the lord of Sulfuron emerges, rumbling, "Too soon Executus...".

I loved that fight to death, even if it basically revolved around mostly having lots of fire resistance and ranged tank&spank. Old WoW's end bosses were dragons, elemental lords and old gods, versus BC's nagas, elves of both the blood and night variety, and goofballs with tree fetishes. Their scale simply seemed huger, all-encompassing and truly menacing. C'thun. Sapphiron. The BWL dragons. And when 40 people were zerging them, it was war.

Granted I have yet to experience all of BC's greatest boss battles, but for eg Vashj? She was just hard. She didn't actually inspire me or anything, didn't make me sit back and go, "whoa...". Morogrim had more of an epic feel imo. /shrug

Sunwell (rawr Brutallus, i wish i could see you one day) is apparently more of a return to these roots of fighting huge, awe inspiring bosses that fill up your whole screen and splatter tanks like pesky insects.

I get what you're saying but from experience (having done pre-BC Raiding) Phase 5's beginning on Kael > Ragnaros.
It's truly that awesome.

I'll take your word for it, and hopefully we'll get to experience that soon enough.

Maybe my Rag infatuation also has something to do with MC being my first real raid encounter all those years ago and him being my first real 'hard' boss.

But do wtb moar big fooking dragons an stuff in Wrath. Killing wee nagas and elves gets kinda old.

We are still trying to finish BT (4 bosses to go ) but occasionally run SWP trash. The first evening we ran to Brut (skipping Kalegos?) - I was the MT and enjoyed being squashed :D
