Should you get the iPhone 4S next week?

The short answer: No
The long answer: No, it's a total piece of ****. Get an Android

that siri thing looks pretty awesome. according to what i read in this article, you can't make phonecalls and talk to other people (signal loss, sim connectivity issues etc), but it enables you to at least talk to your phone. :P

"MTN, for instance, already has an 8GB iPhone 4S available on an AnyTime 100 package with 150MB data included per month for R269."
Typo?

If you currently own an iPhone 4, no.
If you own an iPad: are you sure you want another Apple?

I own an iPad and that is seriously enough for me. The Apple build quality is far superior but Android is just lekker :) That said, I love the smaller phones (SE Ray for me).

Wow, a discussion about the iPhone 4S and people start trolling about about Android.
Classy

When is the iPhone 5 going to release? If its within 3 years, then there is no point to buy the iPhone 4S, then when your warranty on the iPhone is done, a new iPhone comes out. Weren't they going to make an iPhone 8GB??

LOL i was thinking of replying the asme thing !!!!!!!
GET A ANDROID !!!!!!

Weak. Iphone is/always will be far superiour to Android. Most people I know who went for the Galaxy 1 and even the Galaxy 2 said it was a load of c**p and couldn't wait to get something else.

I will be lining up tonight to get the new iphone. It's not the iphone 5, but then I only have the iphone 3gs.

Still loving my iPhone 4, don't feel the need for an unjailbreakable 4S running 5.01 so..... no....

Nope.

If you've got a 3GS that's going out of contract, definitely. Otherwise the 4 is good enough.

One thing to remember is that Apple's Siri and Android Voice Commands/Search both send a voice clip over the net and it is processed on their servers. It is not done on device. This means no connection = no response! If your connection drops from 3G to EDGE you going to wait a while to get a response. I've tried several times with all the different scenarios.

With regards to Apple vs Android battle, you really have to try them both and decide for yourself. Based on what you want/need. They have both 'stolen' features from each other. Android you have more control over how things work whereas Apple is much more polished and smoother.

If I had to draw you a picture it would - Apple is for designers/people who just want something to work and Android is for techies/people who want to try different things.

I really want Siri!!

Stand in line....:p

LOL.

You guys need to get better jobs so you can afford nice things when they come out, instead of having to resort to using cheap crap like Android and pretend that it's better.

The 4S is great, and Siri works well although limited in SA with maps it does have a lot more things it can do. The camera on the 4S is also the best 8Mp in all camera at the moment, as tested by Gizmodo
