Silence unknown callers

I've added my number to that database a few times already, years ago. If the spammers aren't part of DMASA, it's of no use
Yeah true, but it does get better. Also did it a few years ago, but I didn't know it lapses after a while.

What's the consequence of a DMASA member simply ignoring this, and making up some excuse that nobody has the time to fight or dispute.

My volume of spam calls is extremely low, and one has to renew the opt out every 3 years. I realised mine had expired when I started getting more marketing calls in Sept,

I'll do it again, and see what happens. Interesting about the three years. It's as if this list is monitored, and as soon as the period lapses, spam rises.

That also sounds very conspiracy theory-ish.

People who have never been on it sometimes get 5 to 10 marketing calls a day, from what I see around the office sometimes.

My phone stays on silent, I do check missed calls now and then and respond if the number is recognized, the rest I ignore or add to the blocklist.

Probably the single best quality of life feature that has been around for ages that I only recently discovered.

Begone all spammers to black hole purgatory.

I cannot adequately express how much this feature has reduced my irritation level in the past few months.

I have no problems with my Vodacom voicemail on iPhone 13. But when using this feature, the unknown caller is not directed to my voicemail. Is this a carrier (Vodacom) or iPhone issue?

Why do you want robocallers leaving you voicemail?
Presumably they will not make use of voicemail (I honestly can't see them expecting me to return their calls).. so then the "silence unknown callers" for spammers will still do what I expect.

But you still want the option to get a message on the odd occasion a non-spammer that is not in your contacts list phones you.
