hi,
just got my e90 yesterday on MTN's R409 pm Procall 120 contract and am relishing the idea of playing around with a Symbian device after a long time.
I am trying to set up the SIP client on the e90 using mweb's broadband talk settings and a wifi network. Has anyone managed to get this configured and if so what are the settings?

Thanks

What exactly are you looking for. When you install any of the mVOIP softwares they automatically configure your settings. If you are confident of your settings, go into Tools > settings > connections and scroll down to SIP settings and configure them

Cheers

Hi Zenit,
I am trying to setup Mweb Broadband Talk on my E90 using my wifi network or the 3G network when i am not near my wifi connection. I cannot seem to register the service and keep on getting registration failed messages. I am not sure if i require the realm details or not but no-one on the helpdesk seems to understand

Have you tried the settings from MWEB

Manual Setup
Use the following settings when configuring your VoIP device (or SIP-compliant software phone) manually:

SIP Proxy Server sip.mweb.net
STUN server stun.mweb.net
SIP account your 278770xxxxxx Broadband Talk number
SIP password your 4-digit Broadband Talk PIN
If prompted for a Codec (data compression method), select g.729a.

Enter Proxy server as SIP:sip.mweb.net and Realm as sip.mweb.net

See if it works. What does the Internet Tel settings below SIP settings show?

Cheers

Hi Zenit,
Broke my head with the mweb call centre, they thought that i was speaking greek..anyway they have said that the problem is with my router and since i am a subscriber i can get a free voip router which is network locked so i am now waiting for that to come through in the mail and I will try it again.
I used all the settings correctly and they still couldnt get me on. Eventually the one intelligent techie that i got through tried the settings on his end and it seemed to work hence the router solution. I even had problems with mweb not picking up my voip phone number on their end which also had to be rectified.
So the solution is getting a new router and voip number and loosing the airtime that i had on my account because it is going to be a new setup.
I will keep you posted with my voip saga.

Thanks for the info

Hi Roman4604,

Thanks so much for the settings, I have made progress, i am now registered on the service but I still cannot make a SIP call, the error message being, no WLAN coverage. I am going to fiddle on my WLAN at work tomorrow and test it although I dont see that being a problem more an issue with the settings on the E90.

Thank you for the settings, they really did help. On all the info on mweb, there are no details as comprehensive as yours.

Kind regards

Hi,
I have now managed to get it working via WiFi and 3G, it does not work on an edge network but at least I have manged to get it working.

Thanks
