The past week I have had worse download speeds of streams such a YouTube and similar sites. Did anyone experience the same issue?

Regarding YouTube (which is one of the few sites I can still get relatively decent speeds on) if I start a video on it and keep the quality on auto, I might get lucky on 100 kBps, but if I change the quality to 360p, the speed goes down. Even if I just leave the video to play, it sometimes go to 20 - 40 kBps average after a few seconds of high transference.

I have phoned my ISP and they did an audit on my line (synchronizing at a perfect 2 mbit linespeed). Also phoned Telkom to reset my port.

Any suggestions as what else to do, what possible reasons there may be?
(My ISP assured me they do not shape on video streaming protocols)

Been experiencing the same issues with YouTube and other streaming sites.
On a 10Mbps line the constant buffering even at 144 or 240p makes it unpleasant to even try and watch anything.

Seems to be a worldwide problem, not only in South Africa. I couldn't play some videos because they were HD but solved it by downloading this marvelous Addon to my browser: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/youtube-high-definition/

Since then I haven't had a problem, just some occasional buffering but you can change the settings easily which solves the buffering problem. It's worth a try & if it doesn't improve your performance, easily disposed of!
