You send the Blue Iris triggers to a DeepStack installation, and it tells Blue Iris if the motion was a human/car/dog/cat/bear/pot plant/etc.

Don't have capacity to upgrade it right now, so will just throw a few RAM sticks at it and make do for now.

It might have been doing some AI DeepStack motion detection, not sure.
It's very variable, depending on how much is going on in the camera's fields of view.

Aaah I see, ok. What I have noticed is that CPU use does jump up when you have multiple viewing sessions going on many client devices.
 
So in noob style - I mounted my one camera against the wall - all good - until night time, you can already see the IR light reflecting off the wall - once dark, its all you see.

I'm looking for an arm - to take it off the wall - are there any stores you can walk in and buy, instead of online? Don't really want to buy one for R150 online, and spend another R100 on shipping.

How far does it need to go?
I ended up using those round junction boxes, puts the camera about 3cm further from the wall than it would otherwise be.

Its currently on a junction box - so I'm probably looking for at least 20-30cm.
 
Question:

I do not see the refurbished Reolink RLC-410 cameras on their website anymore?

My 1 arrived last week, and need to buy some more now(refurbished).

They stated a week or 2 ago that it will still be available for like 70 days or something like that.

Will also contact them, just making sure that I am not looking in the wrong place.

They'll have specials on new ones I'm sure, especially when new models come out.

I still prefer PTZs. But yep not bad as backbone of camera network.

Prices will fall once their new models arrive.
 
So using a combination of binary sensors (alarm, camera motion feed, beams) - I can now trigger the camera to to object detection via HA using DOODS - glad I stumbled on it - it seems to work pretty good.

Even leaving all the camera's to scan at 10 second intervals - the CPU sits at 40% - but prefer doing it the automation way. (in HA link)

The objection recognition is convinced my dog is a person - on every cam she's detected the same.

Little dog doesn't trigger the motion alert.
