Smart outdoor security cameras in SA?

I am very happy with my EZVIZ wifi cameras with microSD card in each, the mobile/pc/tv app works great.
Biggest plus for me is that it's modular and you can add as many as you want over time and is not limited by a 4/8/16 channel NVR.

Had read about reolink on previous posts, will have a look there as well for 4 x cameras and nvr

Are they back to sending via DHL yet?

Hik and Ezviz are spiritually related,they share backend infrastructure and code
I actually migrated my Hikvision nvr from Ezviz to Hikconnect

Im looking at getting a camera setup at my place. Im a complete noob so still figuring out what I need . But I would prefer to use hikvision or dahua cameras as I know someone who can supply me the equipment at a reasonable price. Do their cameras have motion detection? Ive used an indoor xiaomi camera and its pretty useful to have this function as it alerts you to human movement

Reolink now available through their agent in sa,instacam.

Purchase from takealot or even cheaper on their own website....most of the popular camera's are similar price to bringing in from china.

Easiest plug and play system with AI detection for people/vehicles/pets in my opinion, any noob can use it.No need to configure IP addresses etc, literally install cams with sd cards and add via reolink app....it just works.

Reolink has been available in South Africa for years already. I've got 6 of them all with Person, Vehicle and Pet AI detection, linked to my Synology Surveillance Station. I have almost zero false detections. You won't get much better bang for your buck than Reolink.

Prices used to be much more than ordering from their china online store, not so anymore, I just bought 2 x duo 2 poe cams from them this week at R3k each....same price as the chinese store with shorter shipping times.

I bought all mine from Takealot over the past few years. Much less hassle than trying to order from China.
