smtp.vodacom.co.za

I'd still like to know where you are though. It really helps us to pinpoint problems. Won't you update your location info?

Also, the other bits of info, apn, etc?
- Where are you?
Centurion & Rooihuiskraal.

- On which apn?
No Idea what this means.

- Which client are you using?
Email as per P990

- Can you ping smtp.vodacom.co.za?
Don't know how to do this on the phone.

- Can you try the IP: 196.11.146.148 instead of the hostname?
Next time. But this is not ideal.

Just a few minutes ago.
How will GMail help? Doesn't make sense, but I'll send it to myself at GMail and forward it from there

V3G, are you on the ball of maar net effe Windgat? Did biking in France and getting overtaken by omies in vests in trucks, drinking wine from cartons and smoking rollups sharpen your reflexes?

No, but seriously.......the responses and answers are appreciated. I said so in the broadband survey; the help I get here keeps me with Vodacom.

Thanx again!

You can set up gmail on you pc and use their pop/smtp settings.

That wasn't the question. :p
It answered pervious Cory's question and it is also a possible solution to the problem at hand as Dolby had two important emails to send.

*sigh* It's 7.40am 4 September and we have the same issue. Guess one does need a backup mail/connection with 3G.

Any idea when it'll be fixed?

// No mail ! Outgoing is a non entity, clients in Jozi experiencing similar effects

APN-internet, PPDB, Doringloof Centurion.

I am not getting smtp errors but there seems to be a long delay in Vodacom smtp forwarding the mail   Is this also a problem with VC's smtp. ?????
I have sent emails hours ago and they still havent arrived at the recipient.

I gave up on trying to send e-mails as I was losing business.

I use a technology some of you might be familiar with. It is called a FAX MACHINE. You print the thing you want to mail, feed it into the FAX MACHINE and it appears on the other side almost immediately!!

The nice thing about this technology, you know it has been received!!!
