So I went to Capitec

They just came back to me and said that it IS mandatory under section 14.1 of the credit agreement.

Yeah saw that. Wonder if there's still going to be normal debit orders and if you can cancel a Debicheck order once it's approved.

Got this today :

What's this approve purchases thing? I've never needed to approve anything but now I got an sms saying to update my limits at a branch and then tap approve on my phone to pay.

With a password you had to set up and remember yourself.
(This is for the merchants that require SecureCode in order to ensure that you have less options for disputing the transaction) (PASA seems to force it on all their members... Things like PayPal doesn't use it)

Just received an SMS from Capitec...based on my credit profile they have dropped my credit card interest rate from 15.15% to 11.50% ...first time this has happened
That's a damn good CC rate. Never seen CC rates so close to car finance or bond rates

Is cash withdrawal at a Capitec ATM really only R6.56 irrespective of the amount? Is there a maximum amount that can be withdrawn, I don't see anything on their website.
Other banks charge a fixed fee + percentage.

Yes it's fixed. As for the limits this would depend on your daily limit plus the atm limit but I don't know if Capitec has atm limits.
