So I went to Capitec

Got a new CC today but it's still not NFC enabled and the card also still only last one year.

I got the CC is Jan. Even better interest rate than my Virgin CC.

If I swipe the CC will it just add to the credit account or will it ask to choose which account? The lady explained that it will ask at an ATM but I forgot to ask about when doing swipes.

NFC will hopefully come this year, which will probably come along with longer lasting cards.

It gives you the choice so the person behind the till will ask you every time. The card also has it's own debit number so you can withdraw from any of the 6 accounts at an ATM which is great.

For me, the POS operator will ask about 80% of the time "Credit or savings" the other 20% they assume credit, and that pisses me off, so I hand the card to them and say "SAVINGS". This works 99% of the time.

Thanks, was just curious, won't really have that issue but good to know if I ever do use my CC to pay, cause I just generally use my FNB easy account with tap n go when paying.

Man, I managed to do an interaccount transfer 5 times today through the app. Tap Transfer, nothing happens. Tap it again, because maybe I miss tapped the first time. Nothing happens. Tap, tap, tap and 5 transfer sms messages come through...

Has Capitec just raised the withdrawal fee to R6 per R1000? That's what their email says.

I think they want to discourage cash - need to try and compete with Tyme and the new digital banks with their super low costs.

I don't know how new this is but I saw earlier they don't require proof of residence to open an account anymore.
