Yes, but fortunately we know SE is committed to develop and fine tune the Firmware for the P990 for the whole of 2007. Something worth following!

In spite of above mentioned bugs, my P990 is now a trusty companion and I love it every bit.

would not swop my 990 for anything out there ! playing with my buddies tytn, its nice.... well thats all it really is.... nice. oh and dont drop it, feels fragile, my 990 has hit the deck countless time and still cruising

Same here! My P990i hasn't restarted itself since I updated the firmware in April and I love it more every day. :)

Now I want to start playing with the video calling feature... ;)
 
yeah i use the video calling a lot, but both parties MUST be in a 3g zone. you must see how sweet p990 to p990 looks
 
P1i

I'm sure by now you all must have checked out the P1i. Looks like a great addition to p-series. I had a look at the m600i the other day and loved its slim looks. So, I'm looking forward to upgrading later this year to the smaller p1i and selling my p990i, though I quite like the predictive text with the numeric keypad, I wonder if it will still be available on the p1i.

Other than that I'm must say i'm quite happy with my p990i, and I'm sure the next R6 firmware update will make it even better. I'm enjoying it more now that I have a data bundle, just upset cos I've lost my handsfree so I can't listen to radio anymore. Anyone in the cape town area willing to donate one to me, pls pm me?
 
I aw the write up on the P1.

Looks good. I just wander when they will follow Nokia and and add GPS, only thing lacking in my opinion.

IF SE release a P1000, I would think it should arrive with the following specs :

*faster CPU
*at least a 5MP camera (Cybershot would be nice)
*GPS
*much more internal RAM
*much bigger supplied memory stick duo

That's about it - if I ask for more, it would be like asking for a laptop + a digital camera + a Garmin GPS device, all rolled into one. :)
 
I would like the above but lose the camera. That should reduce the bulk, one of my beefs with these uber phones. The M600 is nice to use.

One more thing --HSDPA support.
 
Yes, I think we can assume that HSDPA will come standard on all new 'flagship' phones.

*Maybe a 'beefier' battery should also be added to the list...

lose the camera??? thats the weakest part of the m600, how can we live without a cam nowdays :D

And I thought everyone would be happy to get a 5MP camera for free with their new mobile phone... :confused:
 
Photography is a hobby I take reasonably seriously. So the best camera phone is never going to cut it for me.

That said the camera you have with you is always going to take a better shot than the very nice one you have left at home! I have a couple from the P990 that are passable if you don't look closely.

I'm actually impressed with the quality of the P990i camera - it's on par with my Sony U20 camera pics.... :)

Hi King, I agree, my P990 surprised me with a couple of great shots that's on par with my 2.8Mb P3 Sony Cybershot. Old camera, but still one of the best in it's class!

You just have to take couple photos per take to counter the unfocused ones.

Gecko! Good to see you're still alive & kicking. The latest firmware update definitely gave us a stable P990i, thus the reason that the P990i thread is becoming quiet.... :)

Yes, I always snap more than one pic, to counter the unfocused ones - let's hope that also gets addressed in the R6 firmware update.
