Sony Xperia Z

update my Xperia Z, still android 4.1.2 but got a new firmware xxx1.1.234. The most obvious improvement is the screen as it it very noticeably sharper and the display can now be calibrated with the White Balance setting which was included in the update. The update also provided for some battery life and performance enhancements. Camera software is also improved and photos look much much better now compared to before the update.

This is the second update I have received since I got my phone early in April....if Sony continues with this trend it will be awesome and definitely a step in the right direction for them.

At first I couldnt get the update when I checked for updates via PC companion. Then after a few days after the release of the update, it showed there is an update available for my device. However, when I tried to update it kept on failing for some reason that I'm not aware of. I downloaded SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) and connected my phone and downloaded the update...no hassles!!

Oh yeah the update was 732MB....

Mine also just updated and was just wondering what the updated included.

Its been a few days, almost a week I think, after receiving the update. Totally love the enchancements brought on by the update!! The Xperia Z is now truly a premium phone with premium features now that the camera and screen has been significantly improved to the standards set by the competition.

In my opinion the Xperia Z offers the perfect balance between design, performance and function :)

Has anyone found a case for the xperia z?
None of the shops have any, not even sony at vodaworld. Utterly uselessss.
And expansys want to charge R250 for shipping. Fack

Try these guys - http://www.casesss.com/model.aspx?model=181

Cost me R120 (shipped) and another R50 (approx) in import duties

I bought my Xperia T case from them (Nillkin) and the quality is fantastic. Just don't make the mistake of ordering the white one (like me) - it gets dirty pretty quickly since it's not 'hard and shiny' - that said, it's a fantastic case with all the cutouts perfectly aligned, phone clips in snugly and it feels good in the hand.

Oh, word of warning, the non-Nillkin brand on eBay (UK) is crap - wasted my money.

This is the problem with these other than the norm brands = very few and hard to find accessories. If you go for the Z you must decide beforehand to use it naked. It has after all been made to take the knocks. Cases irritates me no end ... all that beauty covered in polywhatever.

Some of the rumors on XperiaBlog and XDA-Developers suggests that this might be the final update before theJB 4.2.x update starts rolling out......lets hope there is some truth in the rumors.

This will definitely be a very interesting device and cant wait to see it!!Maybe considering not getting a tablet and rather take this device as a 'mini tablet' lol.

Also there will be a device codenamed "Honami" which will be announced later this year with more or less the same specs but smaller (like the Xperia Z/ZL) and it is also rumored that this device will be the first 'One' Sony meaning it will incorporate into one device the best of each division of Sony......if the rumors regarding the Honami is indeed true... then this device will surely set the a new standard for smartphones

I know about this rumour. The Cybershot phone making a huge return into the smartphone market, looking at 16-20 megapixel smartphones with X100 controls. This will most proably be a niche product and will be expensive, also improved specs like the Z Ultra but with more storage than all current phones due to the camera. Still a rumour...

Old article:

I have seen a more recent but more interesting article by Sony in regard with the Cybershot phone and the renowned music phones making a return.

You must head over to Esato forums 2013 Xperia rumors. Info is usually leaked first there before websites like gsmarena get their hands on it. Randomuser and DACHA are probably the most reliable users to believe since they have been extremely accurate about every Sony device even before the Xperia Z. Very interesting to follow....

Just a brief summary I found on esato regarding the Honami
