I'm just going to install the UK version myself. Wouldn't count on us ever getting the updates.

Vodacom says we will have the update either on 17th or 24th

No surprise that update hasn't come for Vodacom...

Yeah. I used XperiFirm and FlashTool to go to the generic RSA version of 17.*** (4.4.2). I then tried the Generic UK version of 23*** (4.4.4) but that was really really bad so back on 17.

I tried generic UK but ended up in a boot loop. Will go to generic SA next. Think I'll wait for the AOSP builds of 5.0

Vodacom told me this morning that it's coming today... lets hope so.

So... a cat used my Z2 as a launch pad off a table so now the protective film covering the screen is scratched. I'm waiting till I get a replacement screen cover before I peel it off to see if there is any damage underneath.

iPad Air also took a tumble due to the above but that was without harm. 20 grand of equipment almost destroyed by a jumping cat

What is that?? Is it different to what came with the phone?

It's a toughened piece of glass that fits over your screen. Much easier to apply as well.
