Installed it, first thoughts is the lock screen clock looks cool, all the apps appear a little bit bigger on the home screens. Will get used to it fast. Seems to have added another row for apps on each screen as well. I like it.

Before I go ahead and update, it's anyone experiencing any major issues? Battery?

Warning, 4.4.4. hasn't been rooted yet. The only way at the moment is to pre root then flash.

Had it for the weekend, everything seems to be working fine. Battery seems the same, no faster drain.

Had the update since Friday, seems to be working fine. Phone seems a little faster as well. Battery not draining faster on it's own.

My dad bought a Z2 off Orange on my recommendation, and I set it up for him today. Just put Nova Launcher Prime, Swype, Quickpic, Tasks and some other basics on and configured it to look good. Even as a OnePlus One owner, I must say it's a great phone. Very fast, good customisation by Sony, light on bloatware etc. My concerns if it were mine would just be its fragility and tendency to attract fingerprints.

Anybody here experienced the 'self-cracking' glass problem that plagues Sony phones?

I've had that issue with my old s4,cracked twice in two weeks clean across from left to right...first at the top half while just sitting in the car and then two weeks later the bottom half while on charge.

Does anyone know the cause of this?

Possibly a dumb question: how do you toggle the sound settings on the Z2? I tried to help my dad and honestly I could find nothing. Other than using the volume rocker of course. Every Android device I've ever used until now had the toggle in the quick settings tray, or an option to put it there.

There is a quick settings button called sound. Hit edit and enable it if it doesn't appear in the quick settings panel

Exactly what it says. I'm guessing you tried to delete a pic using a 3rd party gallery app. Apps don't have permission to write to the SD card. Only system apps can. Should've been the same on the previous version 4.4.2

Its been reversed in 5.0. I've rooted so I don't have this issue in 4.4

I've got a stock Sony Z2 - haven't touched anything - and got this message a few days ago. Since I wasn't home, I've just got to it now and plugged it into PC Companion and it says uptodate software!

I got back to the Update Centre on the phone itself and now the update is gone.

They pull it ?

Yup.

2 weeks after I got the rear cracked almost from the top where the lens is to the bottom. This is my second one - first one shattered after a 44cm drop. They're not quite as strong as they claim

To mute? Press and hold power button.

I updated via non official channels. So I don't know. (Used flashtool)

Thanks.

I woke this morning and it was back in Update Centre via the official channels, so downloading now. They're actually pretty quick with the roll out, considering it only started globally a few weeks back

The reason I used non official is to pre root. Flashtool can also be used to do an "official" update. Apparently it works better than PC Companion. (If you run into any problems)

Anyone know how the Bluetooth Unlock feature works with the Smartband?

http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/11/0...cludes-ps4-remote-play-hi-res-audio-and-more/

Other new features include new edit options within Quick settings, Smart screen rotation, “Record Screen”, Ultra STAMINA Mode (limiting a number of phone functions) and Bluetooth unlock (phone unlocks when any of Sony’s Bluetooth accessory is in close proximity).

EDIT : Nevermind - got it ! And just to add, I think this is the best feature they have on the firmware upgrade! Ultra Stamina is pretty neat as well though
