State capture inquiry begins

It's just the kind of language used by lawyers, not necessarily to say Zuma is the one giving them ideas on what to do next.
Nope legal language has to be very precise. That is why you can draw inferences from it.

I think Zondo should do three things:
  1. Hold Zuma in contempt, and slap him with an arrest warrant or massive fine (former would be better).
  2. Approach the Constitutional Court on a VERY urgent basis for a ruling on the recusal to short circuit Zuma's Stalingrad tactics.
  3. Lay his own complaint with the JSC against Zuma's lawyer. Who, in my humble opinion, is a Dick for Hire.
My understanding of the commission's terms of reference suggests he is certainly within his rights to give effect to 1 and 2 immediately.

As for the JSC, it hasn't held Hlophe to account yet, so to my mind that might not be a useful tactic but probably worth doing anyway.

would not disagree with your laid out approach...but I am inclined to think Zondo, is not touching this political showerhead potato

Will write his report....and make recommendations...and leave it to the NPA to pursue...agree that Zuma's lawyer is rather unpleasant -- and yet he and Zondo know each other since childhood, same village...same law school.

In one way or another Zuma has to face some form of music...or he will just become a festering sore for the nation + I am sure old Donny is taking notes.

Your 3. won't work. Only judges account to the JSC, lawyers account to their respective bars and don't see how you can hold them to account for doing " what their client instructs" them to do. The short circuit idea is best. Zuma's has a history of drawing everything out for as long as possible to escape accountability. Zondo has to be able to use that history in his approach to the ConCourt. I suspect he'll not do so.

Zuma would never have raised recusal arguments two years ago because that's not his style. He was happy to string things along as long as possible and raise irritating objections only when he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. He needed to max out the delays.

Snollygoster Zupta has learnt that this "inquiry" is toothless.

Zuma is so compromised that he even forgot to play the law abiding citizen game, he is letting Sikhakhane lead the way and in the process he doesn't remember that he still has politics to take care of.

The strategy of going full rogue is just too risky for politics.

New trend in South Africa: "I don't want to be prosecuted, so I just walk out."

**** just got real.

Zondo lays criminal charges against Zuma

Looks like Zondo has realised that playing nice with the Zuptoids is not going to get him anywhere.

Don't expect any immediate action, the NPA is snowed under:
