Well from his perspective, I can believe the liability to some degree.
If you're a dealership, you don't have choices.
But as for OEM being inferior - that's a bit of a laff.
The stealerships often use oem and aftermarket parts if the original part is not currently in stock, only difference is they will typically warrant it same as an original part. On older vehicles some parts aren’t available any longer on order so aftermarket is the only option dealers have.
Just go hang around Midas and ask them how often they supply to the local dealerships, you may even see the dealers drivers coming and going.
