Streaming audio over WIFI. PLEASE HELP

Had anyone got experience in streaming or broadcasting local media?
I have followed both these guides;

With not much luck
I am currently using windows media encoder on my pc
and have windows media player 11 on my phone
My phone is the Sony Ericsson X1

My goal is to listen to music on my phone that is on my pc, and all this over the wireless network.

Please please can someone help

I listen to etn.fm on my N82 and PC using the wifi connection at my office and home with no troubles at all.

What problems do you experience ?
 
I am gonna try orb

Basically the error I get is that when I try open port that media encoder is tryna use I get the error "parameter is incorrect"
Please let me know if you need more detail
In the mean time I will try orb but will kep you posted

Can I stream local music over orb ?

I havn't tried orb but I found that shoutcast and winamp worked well for doing what you want to do. I have tried media encoder and it seemed to be using way to much resources.

I feel like a noob when it comes to the streaming/networking
could you go into more detail on getting local streaming working over shoutcast and winamp?

lol Tsponge, i'm also noob

Experimented with this about a year ago, so i am a very rusty in this... google it, there's lots of info and it was simple when i used it with winamp. http://www.shoutcast.com/download

I was able to setup a servers on different machines which used internet radio streams (things we do with local cap when theres nothing left to download, lol)/playlist/audio captured through a tv card and rebroadcast these to any machine on my network.

Using the mms://192.168.1.xxx:8000 from any machine, it would open the stream in windows media player. I setup a playlist which had each servers url and i could switch between these streams easily.

OK so I found a tool called Pocket Remote Sound
http://www.rgbaker.demon.co.uk/PocketRemoteSound4.htm
It does exactly what I want it to do-stream pc music to phone....one catch, its not free
I have Windows media encoder and stream music to other PC's in the house by using the OPen URL command on WMP, but for some reason it wn't work on my WM phone....

Any ideas ?

Can you stream the music to other pc's without using bandwidth? if so, could oyu please tell me how to do it?
