Streaming RWC games - Issues/Problems/Solutions

Just a pity that I bought the media box for RWC watching purposes but apps like itv and sabc will not run on it. Only rugbypass installed but buffers. That's why I had to revert to the laptop. My phone is too old and temperamental to cast to tv.

Yeah problem is the SABC+ app isn't available for TV, just for phones and the web.

Yup, learned this last night, hence why i had to use my laptop.

No I generally stream my entertainment. I just wanted to see if I could....and instead of the France v NZ match, they showed some french league rugby game.

Yup, DSTV's platforms or SABC+ stream or analogue signal (which has been switched off in most places).

Thought I would create this thread where we could find solutions to our streaming problems.

My setup and what works/ doesn't work for me -

- Media box - Itv and SABC apps can't be loaded/ not supported.
- RugbyPass TV can install but buffers. Have not tested on a live game yet though.
- Kodi add ons like DaddyLive/ SportsHD runs but also buffers.

- Laptop - Itv works well with VPN. Streamed via their website & then clicking "Live" option. Slight pic degradation experienced.
- SABC+ works. Streamed via their website.

- Smartphone (Samsung Galaxy) - ITVx, SABC+ & RugbyPass apps run fine. No buffering.

Unfortunately the powers that be took away my ability to create threads. However this is about Rugby and it is relevant to this thread.

Like most people I pay my TV license, I own a open view decoder that has SABC on it. There is literally no other way to use SABC other then with an OpenView decoder. So why the **** couldn't I watch "the only" game I wanted to watch tonight.

I don't care about Springboks and whatever the hell they do. I wanted to watch France vs New Zealand. Because I knew France was going to kick New Zealand in the balls. I was not allowed to do this simple thing.

So why am I paying for TV license if I can't access the FULL SABC products as it is what I am paying for. So fck the rugby fck the Springboks and fck MultiChoice.

TL/DR
I took a chance with the SABC+ streaming app.
Worked a treat and I managed to watch the whole game. Sure, it was SD quality, but never buffered or pixelated.
I was pleasantly surprised.

Fecking DSTV and their streaming for one...

Just signed up for NORD, went to UK server, Signed up with STV and live streaming Georgia vs AUS ,

Now logging out and sending all details to daughter in another town, coz her sister is already using the single DSTV stream in another country....

Nord working grand, just had to disable my AVG.....

For those streaming on rugbypass.tv

Just switch vpn on. Start the stream and then once you are streaming switch the vpn off.

Video is served from Akamai, so it switches to local servers once you switch the VPN off.
