Super bad latency with afrihost

guys should proberly report it to afrihost if you have not done it already cause at the moment they are not awar of any problems, spoke to a tech guy this morning and he said there was nothing wrong.
 
i called them now they said its due to seacom its not "fully operantional"
 
Latency suxes again tonight on afrihost hanging around 1000ms + with alot of lag spikes. Glad i got two accounts, on my telkom account i got 300 -400ms and no lag spikes
 
yes same i have not even bothered to sign for tonights raid

Not like a "Afrihost tech guy" will fix the IS network lol.

Yea they cant fix it but they can report it to IS, Unless you wanna phone them directly and good luck with that as thats like trying to get hold of the pope or iburst tech support

nope its still ongoing all i get from them is "we see you got port errors" all the time but today they said they would speak to IS and ask them to investigate whatever that means, but its really getting me down tbh all i want to do is enjoy my internet , my line is running fine i got 512kb did a speed test got 525kb

Hi there,
Afrihost and axxess uncapped accounts are both through IS, Who are having major problems at the moment with high latency due to international links being down,
They are working on the issue,
We have stopped taking new sign ups on those uncapped accounts until IS have sorted out the issue,

Hey Peeps hows your latency with afrihost? iam still about 200ms higher then i used to be :( I have been raiding with my telkom account which works fine with around 300 -400ms but would really prefer to get back to having 200 -300ms on afrihost :)
 
my axxess account runs perfectly till 1 pm then suddenly degrades badly, goes slow and disconnects sometimes
 
mailed afrihost for an update to see whats going on this is there reply, Iam so glad i got two isp's otherwise this would have been most annoying

As of yesterday out of the blue my afrihost account was working as normal. But dont want to jinx it so heres hoping it stays that way now!

Thanks for the mail i have checked the postings on mybb and see that a few people are still having issues with latency we are investigating and hopefully we will have some resolve on the matter soon.

It happens at *EXACTLY* 5 PM for me, ping goes from 300 to 550 or so to international sites in the space of a few seconds.
