Hi all,

So about a month ago I signed up with Supersonic - the packages looked good (R99 for 10GB) and the process to sign up and such was quick and easy.
I signed up, did the payment and 2 days later I had my SIM card and router.

Lekker neh?

No...

Now, for 3 weeks, I have not used my initial R99 (10GB) of data because the router (with the 1st SIM in) connects and disconnects.
APN is correct, I even put the sim in a phone and did the *136# which also fails - no surprise there.

Suffice to say, after many many messages via Twitter with the 'support' people - they sent me another SIM, 2 days later, still not working.

They keep saying they have to escalate, refer up, chat to their 2nd line, but nothing comes from it.

This morning I demanded to speak to a supervisor/manager - they say they can't do that until I provide them with my ID number - now, if you scroll the damn hell up on Twitter, you'll see my details there 100x because it seems, each genius there needs to see my ID only to not help me.

Not only that, but I can't login to the control panel/client zone - says my email is not verified - but I got their verification email, but the site refuses to let me sign in, so I always have to sign in with my OTP which is so painful.

Also, there is a amount outstanding - which the guys from Supersonic have already confirmed (Via Twitter) should be removed but their billing department is as useless as their support department.

Stay away from these guys!

I'm grateful I have my RSAWEB WIFI router and data to keep me going.

if you have an old android phone .do a factory reset .put the sim in and restart it may load all the right thingys then correctly .ive had SS for years and have never had even one down day .

I've been warning people about Supersonic since I experienced their support. I came to the same conclusion. Run by amateurs.

CEO needs to fire people and hire competents. They need a rating system and they need to implement PDPs for their staff. Not an easy job but they really do need help.

With my complaint, they were happy fingering the data use on my account. Literally redistributing it manually. They had data use on days that I was waiting for the SIM to arrive. I'm convinced staff are stealing data
I signed up for a package with them around Nov 2020. From the get go their service levels were disastrous, with no one knowing what was going on or when I would get my router.

I decided to cancel the order as I could not see anything good coming from Supersonic. I had to wait months for a refund - think Feb 2021 - with repeated calls asking for progress on the matter.

I remember being told that they only had one person dealing with refunds and that he had a massive back log. Apparently his name was Goodenough, even though he clearly wasn't! The mind boggles.

I would warn everyone to stay the hell away from them. If their support is still this poor, you don't want to have any dealings with them. Guessing that when you pay your staff peanuts...

why didnt you search the threads on this forum before signing up ? For along time they have been rated (By customers) as one of the worst isps in the country.

Had the same issue with data with them as well. Huge amounts of data being used when the sim was not even active. There customer service makes telkom look good and thats saying a lot.

When it worked it was brilliant but i would never recommend them due to their customer service.

Anyways, I submitted a ticket and posted on Twitter and DM'd the Supersonic account on Twitter that I want to cancel, I'm done.

What I'm even going to do on Monday is go to FNB and get a new debit card - I'm actually due for a new one, but I can't seem to delete my one on their site so if they don't give me the option I'm going to force the issue - I'm not having those Supersonic bastards take R99 a month and then spend another year trying to get my R99 back.

They are terrible, my advice is get off them as fast as you can, future you will thank you.

At my age, _everything_ is run by kids. Menus are printed in flyspeck 5 light grey on dark grey, all the apps insist on turning video autoplay on again after every upgrade, websites have pop-ups in their pop-ups... get off my lawn damnit.

Two months and waiting ...

Canceled Supersonic Fixed LTE-A, still waiting for them to collect their "Free to use" router, that I did not want or need. My Huawei B618 is much better device.

Every 15 days I use support to remind them, that they need to collect their device. Still no response ...

So long threads like this exist - people shouldn't have excuses of using them - it's a shame really because can you imagine how much money they'd make if they just did things properly.

Don't they have the Tarana fixed wireless product?

Yes but seems everybody is talking about LTE. Would be nice to hear about the wifi service in the wifi thread :)

There was a lot of marketing but not sure what coverage they have, or how many clients - on wireless.

So check this kark!

This morning I get a e-mail from Supersonic saying that I owe R99 for Feb.

I cancelled it, I even Tweeted a picture of my cancellation on 15th Jan and look, now suddenly my account is active and billing again, I submitted another cancellation again but I refuse to pay for Feb - I even have proof of my original cancellation so screw them.

I'm so happy I changed my debit card - I knew this would happen - I'm sure Supersonic is run by the ANC.
