Does anyone know how to link two different sets of Whatsapp Backups?
My first iPhone 6S dropped in the water and the last Whatsapp Backup to iCloud I did was on 16/04/2016. Luckily, I also managed to do a normal backup just before then. I got a new iPhone 6S the next day but have not been able to restore the phone to the previous one immediately due to outdated software. So I used the phone for a week and have only been able to do the update and restore today.
Just before this, I backed up the Whatsapp messages to iCloud, but these new messages did not restore to the new handset. I do see a message on the handset that the last backup was today, but there is no option to restore to this backup.
I don't want to uninstall whatsapp and restore the backup then, as I also need the first handset's messages as it is crucial for a criminal case. Is there any way to extract the old chats from the new handset that looks as close to whatsapp (pics included) as possible?
