Unprotected strikes are a bad idea, but if these workers aren't in a union they should join or form one. No reason Takealot should be above the law. And the workers would be quite right to leverage the law to improve their circumstances.

Maybe Takealot should plan better so they have more permanent jobs and less temporary ones. There is no reason to applaud them if they're following Amazon's abusive employment practices.

Or opportunity to change jobs. There seem to be a lot of muppets around who think everyone has a wide choice of employment.
 
I don't think it's exactly skilled labor. Get rid of them, hire new people.

Everyone is striking for something these days.

Yes, they are. Quite common on production plants and mines etc.

You usually get more days as a "weekend" so that you don't work more than the max prescribed hours per week/month set by DoL.

Same with overtime I think.

Usually 4 days on at 12 hours a day and then 4 days off.
 
Oh just wait for the Chinese factories.

Heck, even Amazon.

Biting the hand that feeds you... and all that.
 
I cannot imagine having to do these jobs...
Can one realistically ever get out of such a hole and to a better future in SA?
