Telkom ADSL customers suffer

The saying usually goes "Too little, too late", but in Telkom's case it's "Nothing and now too late!"..

I believe that the damage has already been done and no amount of admission of guilt or promises of improved customer service will prevent an exodus from Telkom as soon as a viable alternative is available.

"Telkom - Goodbye Tomorrow"

According to Telkom the poor service is partly due to the impact of cable theft, but they have put measures in place to address these issues.

BULL BULL BULL and more BULL. I too have had to hold for more than 2 hours at 10pm to get a technician to answer the fault. The only reason for this is because Telkom continue to reduce the number of staff at the call centre, whilst raising the price of their "service".

Out of local tech's mouth:

"we don't get an increase , we don't get a bonus , we get 26days leave per year - but its a nightmare to get it OK'ed - so it gets lost"

So their motivation is ZERO - even if some of them perform 200%.

Apparently due to some court case telkom lost in some african country..

my2c.....management=bs

I suppose actually admitting failure is a departure from their usual arrogant statements. Our memories are too long to believe that Telkom could ever be sincere about anything.

I have to admit that, apart from waiting many minutes for Telkom's helpdesk to answer, all service I've received from them has been prompt and occurred within 24-hours of me reporting the complaint.

This must be an April fools joke... Telkom actually admitting there's a problem?

Same here, but that's due to the hard working individuals at the local Telkom depot not the company leadership.

for telkom to admit there's a problem.... has to be a disaster of epic proportions

I dunno. All I know is that our office ADSL is down again. Third time in three weeks.

This is an April Fool's joke guys.

Some of us old-timers here on the forum have become accustomed to RPM's skewed sense of humour and can see it coming a mile away. :D

You know what is sad? Telkom is so bad that when they actually do something right people think it is an April Fool's joke :(

april fools joke or not, even if they did admit fault they not doing anything to fix it?

one solution, maybe?

just wait. neotel will take half the strain. telkom knows that it will be F'd 6 luv.:D

I really can't understand it. We pay an arm and a leg for telephony. Telkom make billions in profits every year. Why can't they take a little more cash and hire the correct people for the job.

And if they have to fill racial quotas where they are unable to source the appropriate people, why can't they fulfill their social obligation and educate/train their staff correctly?
