So I just got home. Our Internet wasn't working since the 10th of January. Called on the 12th. Sent a techie today. They were liasing with my sister. So they replaced our ADSL router (D-Link) with a Huawei B315v with obviously a sim card inside.

Wtf? My sister is only coming back tonight for me to ask her what's going on.

Interesting. Where to buy?
Don't know if this is a mistake as it's usually around R1,650 new, but this is R1,250:

That's the new thing with Telkom, they not replacing adsl copper lines they just upgrade you to lte if there is a fault with the adsl line.

We're not getting over 0.5Mbps currently. This is BS. ADSL we maxed the line ALWAYS. I've two nieces who watch YouTube and Ticktock. I do a lot of YouTube and crucially DSTVNow. Parents on the other hand stream too. And 1 tenant is on our WiFi.

This is just depressing. So as it stands it will only be usable midnight until maybe the antennas improve it. I'd wager not greatly either.

Give the tech who did the installation a call in the morning, I know when my adsl was installed it took two days for it to reach full speed, not sure if it's the same for lte though
