Telkom Does 3G with Do3G

So when can we expect map aupdates on the Telkom site?
 
anybody figured out how to check the remainder of the data balance yet?
I cant get the USSD, or SMS , or phone number to dial to check balance, to work.
I got a phone number to phone from the chick at Telkom store (080 999 9991) to phone to get answers... but it also doesnt work....

edit : I phoned the 0809xxx number from my cell phone (maybe our switchboard blocks it)
the helpdesk dude (only waited a few seconds to get thru!) says i need to send sms "do" to 2222, and then get reply.
or phone 2222 7701861 from sim.
Doesnt work... so I say... maybe, coz it is a data-only package, maybe the sim is not enabled to make calls or sms.
Havent got the sim's number with me right now for him to check, so will call again.....

Capable devices?

Just seen in my local newspaper that the free sim/connection thing is available till end March.
Can anyone tell me, is it possible to use an older 3G-type phone (e.g. Nokia 6680) with this service? Wouldn't mind checking it out but don't want a new modem and can live with the slower speed..

You can use any 3G phone or modem to use this service.
Execpt if the phone is from the USA
 
Screamer - is it possible to ask the mybb site to give you your own forum so you don't add so much noise on this one!
 
I agree... He should be baned from the site as he is always trying to sell packages online instead of actually giving opinions and help...
Or at least start his own thread...

***OFF TOPIC*** was looking at screamers prices and i feel that its expensive to pay R4000+ for a uncapped 1mb when neotel has it for R1000 (2.4mb)

Looks like VC is readying itself for a price war, so lets see what happens. Cheaper broadband is defintely on the way. Telkom needs to step up real quickly to other provinces.
 
Available in CT yes! But only certain areas and only on 24 month contract! Not in Table View though.

Ahhh! This is all confusing. I'm hearing conflicting stories all over. Just gonna stay with Vodacom until all the **** is sorted out.
